Robusters at Slopes for Hopes

On Sunday, Feb. 21, a group of four Robusters and two supporters took part in the annual ski fundraiser Slopes for Hopes.  Held at Red Mountain Resort in brilliant sunshine, the event challenged individuals and teams to ski the height of Mount Everest and raise money for cancer research.

Robusters at the event included: Kathryn Tremblay, Pat Bruce, Trudi Toews and Jan Micklethwaite.  Joining them were two survivors still undergoing treatment: Susan Sullivan and Christina Sproule.
While our group weren't the top fundraisers we did well.  The entire event raised almost $30,000.

We were highly visible as we skied in our team jackets and pink boas - leaving feathers on the snow everywhere.  During the day our group responded to many questions about our dragon boating, and at the windup awards ceremony, the Robusters were cited as being an inspiration to everyone.
