The Kootenay Robusters dragonboat team successfully ended their 2014 season with a third place finish in the women's Platinum B final on Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014.The  highly competitive women's division included 40 teams who were divided into Jade, Gold, Diamond and Platinum (the highest) sections, based on their qualifying heats.  Unfortunately, the last race of the festival had to be cancelled due to high winds, so placement was awarded based on times from the semi final. In the Breast Cancer Survivor Cup Challenge. fourteen Robusters combined with seven paddlers from four other teams and placed fourth out of nine teams.  The survivor race was followed by the traditional Carnation Ceremony held to honour all those who have died of breast cancer and to encourage those fighting the disease.
