Flooding Changes Everything

posted Jun 2, 2018, 1:55 PM by Robusters Website

Members of the Kootenay Robusters put down their paddles and picked up shovels to fill and then place sandbags during the recent flooding at Christina Lake and Grand Forks.  Many of our team mates live in these two towns, so when the call went out, we rallied around and paddlers from Trail, Rossland and Castlegar drove over to help out.

Because of debris and wave action on the lake, practices were cancelled anyway so this activity gave us a way to build core strength and stay in shape while we waited for the water to recede.

By the last week in May, the Robusters were able to get back on the water while people in the two affected communities put their lives back together.
